Without further ado though today we're talking about Insomniac's Venom game. Now Insomniac at the minute is very very busy with Marvel's Wolverine releasing in I believe a week and a day on the 15th of September. In the meantime though we're still thinking about what they've got coming next. Obviously once Marvel's Wolverine is wrapped we'd imagine that Insomniac is going to move on to its next big project. Like they did with Marvel's Spider-Man 2, it seems doubtful that we're going to be getting any major expansions or DLC for Marvel's Wolverine, considering that Insomniac seems so busy these days that they just don't have the time to work on something like an expansion or even a mid-sized DLC. That aside, the Venom game has been rumoured for a little while. It was one of a few projects said to be in the works at Insomniacs, like the cancelled live-service Spider-Verse game."
"But fairly reliable insider NateTheHate has responded to a fan asking about the idea of a Marvel's Venom game still being in the works, and he said that yes, Venom is very much still in development upon last check. As to when it'll be announced, I don't know. Now, I doubt that it's going to be announced any time before Wolverine releases, but the fun thing is that Wolverine is releasing very, very soon and Insomniac doesn't necessarily have another project lined up after that. We know that Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is in the works in some aspect. We've seen that the face model for Peter Parker in those games has been working again with Insomniac in a now-deleted Instagram post, but we're not sure about what could be in between."
"Perhaps Marvel's Venom is the perfect project for that. However, at the same time, we also know that Sony has been cutting back a lot on projects, but... Switching once more at the same time, Insomniac is one of its biggest and best studios with Marvel's Spider-Man, Ratchet & Clank and now Marvel's Wolverine looking like it's going to be another big hit for the studio. But again, nothing is confirmed. Everything, as always, with these types of rumor pieces should be taken with a pinch of salt because we've heard multiple mixed reports on Marvel's Venom as a game. An actor said that it wasn't happening. Obviously, unfortunately, and very sadly, the voice actor for Venom, Tony Todd, passed away. in recent years after completing work on Marvel's Spider-Man 2, so there would have to be a new Venom put in place. But at the same time, a lot of people really, really enjoyed that small section of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 where you did get to play as Venom, meaning there certainly would be an audience for a return to Venom if one were to happen. Would you play a Marvel's Venom game if it was made by Insomniac? Would you want that to be their next project following Wolverine?
