"What is the quintessential Kia to you? I bet you that it's safe, I bet you that it is, well in this new EVH, rather boldly styled on the exterior side and I bet you you're also thinking that it is a little bit safe on the inside. Some of those things continue to be true about the EV4 Fastback, but there are also things that are changing, and I think for the better. This Kia EV4 Fastback looks bonkers. It is more boldly styled on the inside, But much more importantly, I feel like Kia is finding their fun. They have found their footing, they did that years ago, and they continue to produce some of the more interesting and well-made EVs for a regular family on the market. but they haven't really made a name for themselves in one of the more important categories to me, which is having a little bit of an x-factor, a fun factor even. But I'm gonna, I'm gonna break the rules and I'm gonna show you with this camera. Look at this thing, man. Doesn't this just look very, very nice to you? And look at this little coupe rump down here. It looks so good. So yeah, I'm going to really enjoy reviewing this car, I think, and I'm going to tell you all about it. So let's go for a drive. This fastback, which takes its name from aerodynamic coupe-inspired body shapes, has some pretty striking statistics. This long-range GT-Line variant has 204 horsepower and will take you from 0 to 100 in 7.7 seconds. Even so, it'll take you 610 kilometers from its 81.4 kW battery, and despite being rather compact, it packs a 490 liter boot. That's excellent, quite frankly, but the only downside? Charging speed, which tops out at just 128 kilowatts."
"I also think that Kia exteriors have come a long way, and this sleek fastback body is something to behold. Modern, futuristic even, and while I do think that these extras amount to a slightly higher price than I would have liked, you cannot argue with the way things looks or feels."
"If you ask me, the Kia EV4 Fastback is not perfect. Very rarely do you stumble across a car that you actually believe to be perfect. But the point is, there are compromises, there are flaws. It's a bit too expensive. I still think some of the interior design elements are a little bit fiddly and old-fashioned. Honestly, you are making a big fat compromise with the opening and the spaciousness of the boot."
"That's for sure. But, with the EV4 Fastback, Kia has achieved something that is pretty rare, particularly for them. They've made a car that is fun. I think it's both fun to look at, I mean, it's an absolute beaut, and that shape is not neither conventional nor safe. It looks great, particularly in that colourway. but I also think that they're just sort of bold with some of the elements that they've put on there. The interior shines a little bit brighter, the rims, again, the colorway, the overall shape. It's an entertaining car to look at and it's an entertaining car to drive. And I think that's really good for Kia, that usually stays within a very sort of same-ish framework. So, good on them. Looking forward to drive the next and I hope that the EV4 Fastback, at least to some degree, shapes the future of this storied car maker. See you on the next one."
